Valentines...

Let the little children come to me, and do not forbid them for such is the kingdom of heaven.
Matt 19:14.

We have been memorizing this verse in our house for February, talking about Valentine's Day, reading the story of Jesus loving the little children and talking about why we celebrate God's love.  So finally, the 14th rolled around and it was a very fun and packed day.

The love bugs were ready for another year...

Look at this child's face...oh my was he excited...

I'm pretty sure this child was wondering why he wasn't getting whisked off to his normal immediate breakfast serving...

But then he found his new book and of course the man of "immediate gratification" wanted a morning reading...

Everyone got their favorite breakfast...

guava kombucha, eggs, cheese and blueberries for the wee one...

and mango kombucha and blueberry muffins made from Pamela's Mix for the big guy...

Daddy surprised us with stopping by to say Happy Valentines after a morning meeting...

That night the real fun began.  We decided to make Valentines Day a family date and we made a reservation at Cane Rosso in Deep Ellum.

I got the boys dressed in their "dating" gear.

I educated them that "fresh teeth" are a must on any date...

Waiting patiently for dad to arrive...

We finally make it to dinner (we didn't calculate in Valentine's Day traffic)...

there was a lot of this...
mom and dad feeding and entertaining babies...

and a some of this...
whining because when Curious George goes downtown he gets to ride the train!  So in true Valentine's Day spirit Mike and I got our food  "to go" (we were also on the verge of REALLY disturbing the other patrons) and headed to the DART station to ride some trains - because that's was Curious George would do.  Mike had grabbed some flowers on the way home so while I held Track while Graham and Mike gave the flowers to the ladies on the train.  Graham would say "Happy Valentine's Day" at the speed of light and then essentially throw a tulip at their feet - Hilarious, but the women loved it and it was a great way for him to show God's love to others.

Side Note:  Graham asked me about a homeless man on our way to workout one day, so I gave the guy a few dollars, said "God Bless" and then proceeded to teach G that some people don't have homes, and mommies that feed them meals, etc.  We drove off and he said, Mama what's his name so we can pray for him?  Sheesh - child, I am supposed to be teaching you!  Why didn't I think to ask the man's name?  SCHOOLED by my 3 year old who has not been hardened by this world.

Back to Valentine's....

We got home and Grandmom and Grandad has sent cards in the mail...

We had gotten cards/ packages earlier in the week also...it was a great week of talking about how loved these children are.

All in all, we had a great day and a great few weeks leading up to Valentine's Day.

Dear child...

Trackers, You wake up from your nap about 30min to an hour before your brother and I LOVE the one-on-one time I get to spend with you.  You love to play and have time just with me, but what is interesting is you ALWAYS go to your brothers door like you want him to wake up.  This is interesting because you guys offer a lot of "mediating opportunities" to your mama when you are both up and going.

Are you ready to move from baby to middle baby?

I actually think you really are.  You like babies being around and you are less a mamas boy than your big brother.  Your brother will be fine too - especially since he has you.  You are a sweet little brother and such a joy to my heart.

The zoo...

For Christmas this year my parents gave us family zoo passes and we decided to try em out today after church.  What's great is we don't have to feel obligated to stay because we paid a ton of money and one of the boys peed on himself and the other is breaking down.  None of that happened today, but it easily could have.  Good thing we have zoo passes!

Serious guy...and look closely at my eyes...special - what am I looking at?

Graham has a Curious George story about penguins where George gets in the penguin habitat and saves a penguin baby, so G thought the penguins were especially intriguing today.  He did however mention that he was not supposed to get in the exhibit...this child knows the rules AT.ALL.TIMES.

The penguins certainly got the best of this baby smile...

G giving his best smile to the cheetahs...which by the way the cheetahs NEVER perform. You cant EVER see them and when you do they are just laying around. Aren't they supposed to run fast and impress us?  LAZY.

All three babies...that's a big belly!

Daddy and G on the elephant statue.

Graham said his favorite animals were the Tigers (which he talked about the WHOLE time and he also used the map to help us find them - so smart says his mom).

PS.  Dear Patron Ma'am Mom at the Zoo, It is not necessary to tell the kids that Tigers eat people...COME ON!  Now if you are interested in the true story of Adam and Eve and the animals getting along in the garden before sin - APPROPRIATE - ha.  Saying that Tigers eat people - true as it may be....also TERRIFYING to my all 3 year olds that are currently watching the Tigers eat.  Really?

Anywho, we stayed for a few hours.  T feel asleep on the way home, G ran out most of his energy, we got .30c off water for being members and I'm sure I walked off a pound or too.  Altogether, good experience.
