Valentines...

Let the little children come to me, and do not forbid them for such is the kingdom of heaven.
Matt 19:14.

We have been memorizing this verse in our house for February, talking about Valentine's Day, reading the story of Jesus loving the little children and talking about why we celebrate God's love.  So finally, the 14th rolled around and it was a very fun and packed day.

The love bugs were ready for another year...

Look at this child's face...oh my was he excited...

I'm pretty sure this child was wondering why he wasn't getting whisked off to his normal immediate breakfast serving...

But then he found his new book and of course the man of "immediate gratification" wanted a morning reading...

Everyone got their favorite breakfast...

guava kombucha, eggs, cheese and blueberries for the wee one...

and mango kombucha and blueberry muffins made from Pamela's Mix for the big guy...

Daddy surprised us with stopping by to say Happy Valentines after a morning meeting...

That night the real fun began.  We decided to make Valentines Day a family date and we made a reservation at Cane Rosso in Deep Ellum.

I got the boys dressed in their "dating" gear.

I educated them that "fresh teeth" are a must on any date...

Waiting patiently for dad to arrive...

We finally make it to dinner (we didn't calculate in Valentine's Day traffic)...

there was a lot of this...
mom and dad feeding and entertaining babies...

and a some of this...
whining because when Curious George goes downtown he gets to ride the train!  So in true Valentine's Day spirit Mike and I got our food  "to go" (we were also on the verge of REALLY disturbing the other patrons) and headed to the DART station to ride some trains - because that's was Curious George would do.  Mike had grabbed some flowers on the way home so while I held Track while Graham and Mike gave the flowers to the ladies on the train.  Graham would say "Happy Valentine's Day" at the speed of light and then essentially throw a tulip at their feet - Hilarious, but the women loved it and it was a great way for him to show God's love to others.

Side Note:  Graham asked me about a homeless man on our way to workout one day, so I gave the guy a few dollars, said "God Bless" and then proceeded to teach G that some people don't have homes, and mommies that feed them meals, etc.  We drove off and he said, Mama what's his name so we can pray for him?  Sheesh - child, I am supposed to be teaching you!  Why didn't I think to ask the man's name?  SCHOOLED by my 3 year old who has not been hardened by this world.

Back to Valentine's....

We got home and Grandmom and Grandad has sent cards in the mail...

We had gotten cards/ packages earlier in the week also...it was a great week of talking about how loved these children are.

All in all, we had a great day and a great few weeks leading up to Valentine's Day.
