Each one of us helps his neighbor and says to his brother, "Be Strong!" -Isaiah 41:6
(Disclaimer: Red letters on my blog not NECESSARILY spoken by Jesus)
Time to move on from Helpfulness...this was a great character trait and Graham really got into helping (in his own way) around the house. The pictures in the middle are to remind him of things he is good at helping at...giving T a bath (splashing the water around), feeding puppy (actually he does this with exact precision and doles out one piece of food at a time into her bowl - long process), feeding goats (stretch altogether - What? - yall didn't know we have goats in the backyard?), and putting T to sleep (insert blanket on face).
Most of ALL he loved the story on the back of the Helpfulness card. It goes like this...Raul (uh - great name) was going to play baseball with his friends when he saw his elderly neighbor struggling with her parcels (mama, what's a parcel? - email honey, email). He stopped to HELP her and then met his friends for baseball. One thing the child loves more than parcels is baseball.
We are taking a break from the character cards and doing an advent reading for Christmas.
She'll give birth to a son, and you are to name him JESUS because He will save His people from their sins. - Matt 1:21
So far we have done Alpha and Omega and the Trinity. The pictures in the middle are Tracks birthday and Graham's birthday - party hats included.
I wanted to explain to Graham that Christmas is Jesus' birthday, so what better why to depict to a two year old then the family party hat.
After all, I bet Jesus wears a party hat of sorts on his birthday. It's kind of a big deal.
Let's Hear it for Jesus.
Precious! We are doing the same advent ornament thing and we are LOVING it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Alison. So far it has been really fun.
